As these 21st century years go by, new technologies continue to further strenghthen the bubble of immediacy, convenience, control, and comfort around us — pulling us away from wildness, humanity, and hiding the pressing consequences of “progress” on the planet. Our lives become faster as we are pushed at the speed of machines, we are given more control, but feel less in control, comforts are more ever more abundant, but we aren’t getting any happier. Every emergent technology is only one piece of a larger web of encroaching technologies. This is the Megatechnology.
